Life Notes Picks Up Five Telly Awards for Outstanding Local and Regional Cable Programming

Life Notes with Vera Turner picks up five Telly Awards in the 26th Annual Telly Awards Competition. The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
The five episodes of Life Notes recognized include The Homeless, which received a Silver Telly Award, and Beating the Odds Against Breast Cancer, Teens and Suicide Prevention, Diabetes, and Adoption, each of which received a Bronze Telly Award.
The Homeless, which garnered the top award, provides a close-up look at homelessness and identifies ways in which communities can work with the homeless to help them improve their condition. In the show, former homeless people share inspirational stories of how they rose above their circumstances to lead a more productive and rewarding life.
This year's honors coupled with last year's Telly Awards make a total of eight statues for Life Notes. Vera Turner, who serves as executive producer, writer and host for the show says, "The awards are significant because they speak to the quality of the show. I feel blessed to have accomplished all that I have in such a short time and to have worked with some amazing individuals and organizations in the community to help give voice to their causes."
Life Notes is produced by Vera Turner Enterprises, LLC in collaboration with Fairfax Public Access. The show is broadcast on seven community access stations in Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Vera Turner Enterprises, LLC is an Alexandria-based communications company founded in October 2003, which delivers inspirational programs via video, audio and print media, and through public speaking engagements. The company also provides training for individuals seeking to improve their communication skills.
