Vera Turner, the award-winning Producer and Host of Life Notes Television, is a true renaissance woman. Vera is a dynamic speaker, poet, author and marathoner, who embraces life wholeheartedly. Her zest for life is evident in all that she does. Vera draws upon her rich tapestry of experiences and enthusiasm for life to inspire others to lead more productive and fulfilling lives.
Born and raised in the small southern town of Franklin, Virginia, Vera overcame her humble beginnings to launch a successful career in broadcasting, which spans over 20 years. Vera first entered the broadcasting arena in the late 1980's with a brief stint as a radio announcer for WYCB in Washington, DC. She then went on to land key positions as a financial manager and fundraisier at PBS stations WNET-TV New York, and WQED Pittsburgh, as well as PBS corporate headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. As a fundraiser and on-air personality, Vera has helped to raise millions of dollars for public broadcasting.
Vera Turner has a Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Tech and a Masters of Public Management from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a member of Women in Film and Video and National Speakers Association.
